Episode 55. What's Working in O&M: Live Panel Discussion
2020 has been quite a year. It’s always interesting whenever I hear someone say Oh, blame it on 2020; It’s all because of 2020. Have you ever wondered that perhaps it is not all because of 2020 but rather because we are trapped in the old paradigms for too long where everything else around us is being shook.
Educational system started with the industrial revolution where children are indoctrinated to be industrial workers. While that hasn’t changed, we certainly did. Nowadays, everyone has different needs. Your students have different needs. Your clients have different needs. You have different needs. We can see that our educational paradigm is broken. While it has not been fixed, maybe it’s getting better.
We, as educators, should also do our part in order to improve the current education system. It’s time for us to stay open-minded, network with one another, learn from one another to forge a new way forward. In this week’s episode we will be sharing some highlights from the webinar that happened on November 12. You will get to hear from Tara Bowie, on her experience of getting out of the overwhelm; Jeremy Hill, on how he and his team looked at remote services to help clients in rural areas; and Sarah Moreau, on how she’s implementing interactive classes and her unique perspective as she’s new to O&M; as they share the struggle that they experienced ever since COVID hit.
