Episode 42. How O&M Specialists Can Support Their Special Education Teachers with Braelan Martin
Collaborating with our students’ other team members is one of the most effective ways to increase our students’ O&M Skills.
There has also been more discussion about how we, as Orientation and Mobility Specialists can do our part better by supporting the special education teachers that we get to work with. Especially in this pandemic, when we have less control of our students’ lives, it’s time for us to start looking into ways that we can teach efficiently by supporting our students’ team members as well.
In this week’s podcast, we invited Braelan Martin, a K-2 Special Education Teacher with a passion for providing fun and engaging lessons for her students, to share her great ideas. For Braelan, the key to a successful classroom is the collaboration between all of the staff members, which is what we will be covering mostly in the podcast.
As a person who loves learning, Braelan also creates Youtube videos for educators to learn more about classroom management, organization, and staff collaboration. You’ll get to know more about how she teaches virtually and how she worked together with orientation and mobility specialists and TVIs to deliver the needs of the students. Join us, as we take a step forward.
