Welcome to Allied Independence Online!

Hello there!

Welcome to our blog at Allied Independence Online. Here, you will find articles to help Orientation and Mobility Specialists skyrocket their students’ independence.

Personally, I am so glad that you have found us. Our entire mission at Allied Independence is to serve you in the best way possible.

In case we haven’t met yet,

Hi! I’m Kassy. You will see my face around these parts. Though, I am not the only one here. Alecia, our Operations Director is also our community liaison. We also have various staff on contract during different times of the year to help us with specific projects.

And of course, our International Orientation & Mobility Online Symposium planning committee. They will be helping to shape our O&M Symposium this year.

We are thrilled to introduce you to our new community-driven platform, Allied Independence Online. We hope that this platform can provide you with exceptional information and strategies to help you when you need us.

What is Allied Independence?

Our company started as a simple idea that all O&M Specialists deserved to feel like they had a voice, a community, and the ability to be the best for their students without the hassle of traveling.

We are on a mission to improve the lives of thousands of people with visual impairments through community driven online learning opportunities.

In fact, Allied Independence is a community-run organization. We were founded by a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist, employ an O&M Specialist as our Operations Director, and have a Planning Committee full of O&M Specialists from all around the world that help drive our International Orientation and Mobility Online Symposium.

But most of all, we are constantly in touch with YOU, our community. There are no people in suits making decisions about what we need without asking us first. Your needs drive what we teach. It is your students that MATTER. And together, we are going to make life a whole lot sweeter for both of you.

What can you find at Allied Independence Online?

On this blog, we are aiming to offer serialized content so that you can dive deeper in to one subject over the course of a month before we switch topics.

We are committed to offering our community free webinars, at least every quarter. We register these webinars with ACVREP through our partnership with them. That allows us to offer ACVREP credit for those who attend!

We also offer courses throughout the year and our International Orientation and Mobility Online Symposium in late January. Be on the lookout for more information about the 2019-2020 Programs coming soon, or check out our Programs page.

How can I submit a post at Allied Independence Online?

We want to support your ideas! In a few weeks, there will be a live button on the header of our blog accepting posts to share with our community. All you need is an idea that will help O&M Specialists and the willingness to share your idea. We will help take care of the rest.

Want to join our community?

Come on over, friend! We have more than enough room for you. We have a private online community where we share our wins, our struggles, and connect with other O&M Specialists around the world.
