At this day and age,  it is so essential that you are taking the time for yourself to continue your professional development and reaching out seeking information that will help guide you and help you succeed. And what better way for us to spend our free time than to enrich our minds and ourselves with positive and helpful information. But where do you go? And are these resource materials easily accessible?

This has been a crazy time for people everywhere. We are trying to cope with changes that are happening so quickly. As a parent and a teacher, we are still expected to continue with teaching our kids and our students at a distance. This is all the more challenging if you need to teach students who are blind or visually impaired. How should we proceed at this time? Would it be easier to put your classes on hold instead?

The amazing Charlotte Cushman joined me on this episode. She manages Paths to Literacy which is an online hub for information related to literacy for students who are blind or visually impaired, including those with additional disabilities or deaf blindness. She also works for both Perkins School for the Blind and Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

We discussed specific strategies that you can adapt in order to become more accessible for your students and have productive teaching sessions each time. We've also touched on a wonderful Youtube channel, Your Tech Vision, which highlights amazing pieces of technology for the blind. We are also very excited to share this wonderful FREE platform that teachers can use, which is Virtual Excel Academy that will allow you to provide virtual services or activities for your student or child who is visually impaired.

So, hop on and press that play button to listen on to this week's episode!
